Qualifications For Grant Consideration

Please review the guidelines listed below before completing an application. If your request does not meet all of these qualifications, please do not spend your time completing the grant application.

1. NON-PROFIT:
To be eligible, organizations must qualify as exempt organizations under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

2. GEOGRAPHIC:
Grants will only be made to public charities based in North Carolina and will focus mainly on those providing programs in Winston-Salem and Forsyth County

3. GENERAL PURPOSE:
Grants generally are not approved for operational or maintenance-oriented purposes. However, proposals may be considered to help cover operational costs in the initial stages of a program. Primary consideration will be given to projects of a non-recurring nature or short-term duration in the following areas:

  • Arts, education, culture, and humanities

  • Health and human services

  • Environment and animals
  • International/foreign affairs and societal benefit
  • Religion

4. COMMUNITY SUPPORT:
Applicants will be asked if they have solicited or received funds for the project from other sources in their community.

5. ANNUAL APPLICATION DEADLINES:

Applications are accepted each quarter ending on the dates below. However, please be advised that grants approved by the Foundation are generally paid in the latter half of December.
